One of the most contentious issues in post divorce parenting conflict is what to call the stepparent. Many divorced parents feel threatened by a new “daddy” or new “mommy” in their children’s lives. Young children often find it easier to eventually call the stepparent “Dad” too. This issue becomes even more difficult when the stepparent and the parent have a child together.
